Eight independent Commissioners have been selected to shape the thinking around the issues the Commission will explore and produce practical and insightful recommendations. 

Each Commissioner brings a wealth of experience from their respective fields which include academia, business, education, politics and the public sector.

Sir Anthony Seldon, Master, Wellington College


Sir Anthony Seldon is an authority on contemporary British history and Master of Wellington College, one of Britain's most famous independent schools.

He is also author or editor of over 25 books on contemporary history, politics and education including biographies of the UK’s last three Prime Ministers.

Sir Anthony Seldon founded the Institute of Contemporary British History, the campaigning group Action for Happiness and is on the Advisory Board of the New College of the Humanities in London. He is one of the country's most high profile school headmasters and appears regularly on television and radio and in the press, and writes for several national newspapers.
